Tokyo Midtown's Open the Park Koinobori Festival, held each spring in celebration of Children's Day (May 5), features stunning display of vibrant carp-shaped fish streamers. Created by artists around the world, approximately 100 koinobori will “swim” amongst the outdoor gallery, each one showcasing its own distinct design and character.
This koinobori titled "Remnants of the Past" celebrates my cultural heritage. One side recalls fond memories of Chinese New Year with my grandma, while the other illustrates the zodiac race in the night sky. This piece blends personal nostalgia with timeless stories.
